So I'm standing on line...

Waiting for Lisa to start the 50 miler last weekend, an as always, I have some type of IM garb on. Anyway, a few woman that were also on line started talking about doing IM Florida next year. One of the ladies asked me what I thought of the race and then proceeded to tell me that it will be her first IM distance race. She said she's a good biker & runner, but has had problems with swimming. The woman next to her begins to tell her about some scumbag that swam IMF with fins!!

Wow!!

A Star is Born!!

Stardom has it's consequences...Look at Danny Bonaduce!! Is HE the Fin-Man?

Don't Fear The Reaper...Or the Fin-Man for that matter!

Don't be afraid...The following letter was written to a bunch of fellow triathletes who blasted "The Fin-Man" in several triathlon blogs:

Note: The names in the following letter have been changed to protect the gutless douchbags of the world.

"You have a article written about "Fronk Cards"on your website with some severe attacks on a person's reputation. I just wanted to inform you that I am currently working with Mr. Cards on putting together a Slander/Libel lawsuit with a few other sites, and I wanted you to be aware of the severity of this type of suit.

With these kinds of lawsuits, its not a matter of deciding if the acquisitions are true or false. The lawsuit is based upon a malicious attack on a persons reputation and intent to defame their character.

Mr. Cards is still in talks with NAS as this is not final and will be going to appeal.

Thank you for your understaning,

Marshalls Eastcreek" (Supposed Laywer representing Mr. Cards)

Tens of thousands of people around the world have been reading about the famed"Fin-Man" for the past couple of weeks. Also, those same tens of thousands have posted their thoughts and rendered their decisions on dozens of blogs on the Internet.

Ladies and gentlemen, We the jury have reached a verdict...

Guilty!!

Even NAS has rendered their decision...1 year suspension from NAS. (They should have dropped the hammer and banned him for life!) I'll comment about that another time...

These so called lawyers that are speaking up for the guilty, don't fear them. Not one of them can ever perform a proper real estate closing, let alone sue 10's of thousands of people for stating their opinion.

Hey Fin-Man, why don't you GROW A SET and tell us what really happened!!

I wish I could say how I really feel!

Charity Bike Ride With Big George Hincapie

Back on October 18th, Cadence was sponsoring this charity ride from their Manhattan shop with cycling legend George Hincapie. I figured it would be a great idea to get the boys from Greenbrook Racing to go. The thing I didn't realize was that the cost was $200 per person. I figured it was going to his charity what the hell. Fugured it would be a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to ride with the man. Let's do it.
Since the four of us are coming from separate directions, we aggreed to meet in Manhattan at 8am. The ride was scheduled to shove off at 8:30. Hincapie arrives with his entourage about 8:30. After some intros & pics, we leave. The ride was from the shop, up to Nyack and back. 55 miles of some flats & rollers. I happen to know the ride well. Very seenic. nice ride up the the Rustible Spoon in Nyack (a roadie cofee shop). We hung out for some free coffee and...thanks Joe... and then we said let's head back before the rest. That's all I wanted to here...Let the ass kicking commence!!

To be continued...

The 2nd Annual Philly Dirty Dozen Hill Climb

One of the coaches Lisa works with at Cadence, Colin Sandberg, attended the U of Pitt and was part of their cycling team. Out in Pittsburgh, they've been doing this ride that consisted of the toughest hill climbs in that area for the past 25 years. Anyway, this guy Colin started something similar in Philly area two years ago. Basically, he took the 13 toughest climbs in Philadelphia & Montgomery counties and turned them into a 44 mile cycling event. I was in Cadence about two months ago for an LT test and a bike fit when I first heard of this. Giving it a bout 2 seconds of thought, I said "when is it and how can I sign up"? I said this would be perfect for the weak climbers at Greenbrook Racing to do.

Hooksie Lad antied up and wanted in. So he and I show up at Cadence with our legs well rested and ready to rock. What a ride! These were some of the toughest hills I've ever climbed. Short distance, but 26-30% grade! The shortest was about 200 or 300 yards long, but most of them were at least a quarter mile, if not longer. Good, hard workout. After you'd get to the top, you'd wait for the rest of the group to make it up. We'd regroup and then off to the next. We finished up climbing one of the toughest in Manyunk, the famous "wall". Long...About 3 city blocks.
All in all it was a great day of riding. I'll probably ride that once a month in the winter. Since moving to Yardley, it's a bit to far for me to run down to Hartshorn to Mountain bike, this ride has that beat!

Here are the climbs:
1. Righter’s Ferry/Laurel Hill Cemetery
2. La Collina
3. Righter’s Mill Rd
4. Waverly Rd.
5. Bryn Trydden Rd.
6. Pleasant Ave.
7. Delhaven St.
8. County Line Rd.
9. Spring Garden St.
10. Hart’s Lane
11. Hagy’s Mill Rd.
12. Port Royal Ave.
13. The Manayunk Wall

Stone Cat 50 Mile Trail Race

Lisa completed her first 50 mile trail race this past weekend at finished second feamle overall! What a great job! Not only was the race on trails, but it was raining pretty much the whole time. Very crappy weekend. Gald I was there to support and as field support. I give her a ton of credit. I hate running long. I'll bike from here to Alaska, but running long, you can have it. See loves running long. No matter how beat up she gets from these runs...Toes turning black, nails falling off, can't walk for days... I know it's only a matter of time before we go and do a 100 miler. Yippee, I can't wait! Maybe she should get some tips from Frank the Tank!

Bintz = Simon Bintley
Hooksie Lad = Simon Hooks
9 Fingers = Joe Patanella

Iron Man Florida Fin-Man Outed!!

I get phone call today from my boy Scott Duprex today about one of his ex-cliets and a training partner Frank "the Retard" Cardia. It seems that a post went up on Slowtwitch today about an athlete the swam the 2008 Iron Man Florida race with fins! And there's pictures to prove it! Looking at the pictures, it's Frank the Retard! Check out the long winded post on slowtwitch http://forum.slowtwitch.com/Slowtwitch_Forums_C1/Triathlon_Forum_F1/Ironman_Florida_Fin-Man_Outed!!!_P2072842/
Bottom Line...I'll be the first to "sak up" and call a spade a spade. Frank's an Asshole!! You just don't do stupid shit like that. You race clean or you go home. You're either fit to race, and in his case, you're not. Frank's the type of guy that looks to get the angle on everything. "How can I beat the system" type of guy. He's always been the type of guy to set the most "off the wall" goals for himself. I remember him telling Balls "I want to race back-to-back IM's,Grow his morgage business by 50% (In which he screwed tons of people on reverse mortgages) learn two new languages and some other BS things I can't remember. Now I set some far out goals for myself, but these were the unimaginable. He gets what he deserves and I hope the USAT & WTC stick it to him! F-you Frank!

What not to Worry about...

Days like today, I wonder why the hell do I work? Every month I worry about what bill has to get paid, but first, what new bike equipment must I have. Yes, I said "Must Have". I'm fortunate that my girlfriend works at Cadence Cycling in Philly, so my wishlist turns into gifts at the end of the day! Then the bills, don't forget the bills. Given the fact I only worked two hours of OT last month, next month is going to be even tighter! I refuse to worry! Life's too short!
